Take Part in Something Great

Putting My Experience
to Work

Jewel was raised in Greenburgh and has always held Democrat values close at heart. In succeeding her mother, Hon. Alfreda Williams, in representing the constituents of District No. 8, Jewel is committed to continuing her mother's legacy and to advocating for taxpayer protection, affordable housing, child care, climate change, quality of life issues, women's rights, diversity, equity and inclusion as well as supporting our youth and young adults.  Jewel is someone who highly regards community involvement and her advocacy in her positions (on the right) all serve as solid footing to extend the legacies of both her mother and that of the late Hon. Lois Bronz. Jewel’s goal is to be accessible, approachable, and attentive to the concerns of the citizens of her district and Westchester County. Jewel’s election will be a culmination of all the positions she has held. Jewel is an alum of Woodlands High School and she has always worked and advocated for progressive results in all of her positions. She hopes to cumulate her undergraduate credits towards a dual degree, to include a Master in Public Policy in the near future. Jewel has vast professional experience in development, philanthropy and graduate medical education administration which tremendously enhances her skillset.

Jewel is passionate about her community as is evident by her many years of advocacy and leadership positions:

  • US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand

"Jewel Williams Johnson is the leader we need to represent us in the Westchester County Board of Legislators," said Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. "A Greenburgh native -- who learned early on the importance of public service and civic duty from her mother, outgoing County Legislator Alfreda Williams -- Jewel has earned a well-deserved reputation as a community leader who advocates on issues that improve the quality of life for all Westchester residents. As a health administration official and the long-serving former president of the Westchester Black Women's Political Caucus, Jewel continues to find even more ways to serve and strengthen her community, and I am proud to support her run to represent the constituents of Westchester County District 8."
